This application provides valuable insights into regions where conditions are favorable for porcini mushroom growth in forests, utilizing meteorological data from various Italian regions.

The map identifies weather stations located near forests typically known for porcini. It refreshes five times a day, employing a color-coded system to indicate the conditions for the emergence of four types of porcini mushrooms:

• Red: Unfavorable conditions for mushroom growth.
• Yellow: Favorable conditions ahead of growth.
• Green: Conditions conducive to mushroom production.
• Blue: Decreasing conditions for emergence.

It is crucial to note that the map does not indicate the actual presence of porcini mushrooms in specific woods. For instance, at lower elevations, suitable conditions may exist for porcini edulis and pinicola, while only porcini aereus and aestivalis may be found at those altitudes. Conversely, higher-altitude woods might present different scenarios. Users must therefore understand the types of porcini available in their areas and use the map accordingly to verify current conditions for those specific types.

The accuracy of predictions increases with the number of monitored weather stations and can be tailored to individual woods by utilizing the “FIND PORCINI MUSHROOMS” forecasting model.

The latest version allows users to long-press on the map to request precise data processing for any point on it. The map then analyzes the data, offering estimates of temperature and cumulative rainfall, indicating whether current conditions are suitable for porcini reproduction. These conditions should subsequently be monitored in the following days.

Furthermore, by accessing the information window of the weather stations, users can view processed data from the last ten days.
